Narges Kalhor, director of the film, will be a guest at the screening on June 8th at the Kommunales Kino.
The director Narges Shahid Kalhor has herself impersonated by an actress. Her mission: to erase the Shahid (martyr) in her family name. But the heroic great-grandfather – proclaimed a martyr in Iran 100 years ago – tries to dissuade the great-granddaughter. Ambiguous, autofictional, with images, songs and poems: a tragicomic, resistant self-empowerment in exile. Caligari Prize winner of the Berlinale 2024.
