Gemeinsam für Freiburg – Geschichten für Engagement und Verbundenheit in Vielfalt
Exhibition by Südwind Freiburg e.V.
Wed, May 6 – Wed, May 13 (opens one hour before the event begins)
People with a history of displacement or migration are often perceived by the “majority society” in Germany as passive recipients of support or assistance. Yet a closer look at Freiburg reveals how they work in diverse ways every day to create a livable Freiburg for everyone. They perform valuable and indispensable work that often remains unseen. The traveling exhibition “Together for Freiburg,” featuring photographs by Marc Doradzillo, brings this commitment into focus. It highlights that behind “migration” and “integration” are people with individual stories, hopes, and dreams. It also shows how people engage constructively and effectively, thereby inspiring courage and confidence. In short audio pieces, those profiled talk about their work, what moves them, and what drives them.
“Engagement is the engine of change. Without people who get involved, there would be no progress—neither social nor ecological. It shows that we are not powerless, but can shape the future together.” - Koku, ANDA e.V.
